Hi Friends,
I've been burdened by something for quite some time
and I would like to share it with you. And maybe, just
maybe, it will become your cause also.
After much soul searching I've realized that this is the
very reason I've been placed on this Earth. And if there
is some way that you can help, please let me know.
I've decided that from this day forward that this is not
just my cause, but my mission for the rest of my life.
A little perspective:
On September 11 of 2001 we all know what happened.
Many consider the death of over 3,000 people in the
World Trade Centers and the other flights that crashed
that day to be a national tragedy.
But let's put those numbers into perspective: On the
same day at least 35,000 people in our world died the
worst possible death - from starvation. Roughly 85%
of those were children under the age of five years old.
Over 29,750 children under the age of five.
If you add the number of people who died from diseases
that are preventable with vaccination and from AIDS, then
the numbers increase to over 50,000 that died that day.
The sad part is that these numbers are representative
of what happens each and every day. If you multiply
those atrocious numbers by a year you quickly realize
that over 18,000,000 people are dying each year for
no reason.
I say no reason because we have the food and the drugs
to prevent this madness. We have them in the USA alone
without the help of other countries.
I'm not sure yet how to make an impact, but I am sure
of one thing: an impact must be made. If you would
like to join me in this quest please let me know. Like
I said, I don't know the solution yet, but with the help
of others, I'm sure that something can be done.
Thanks for taking the time to hear me out,
Tiger Todd
Hi Tiger,
Why couldn't an affliate program be started selling some product where the money would be distributed to the let's say, 3 greatest causes of death throughout the world, probably: Hunger, Aids, and someting else.
This product could be download at a website that every known marketer could promote from their website, email, etc. To down load the product you would have to make a donation through PayPal for the product. Maybe PayPal could set it up where the donations automatically split between the top 3 causes of pain and grief in the world.
This has worked when high profile entertainers get together to make a record and sell it to make money for Aids, etc. Why couldn't online marketers do the same. I've heard of marketing "gurus," that have generated 100s of 1,000s even millions in just a short time. Why couldn't we do the same. The product could be constantly listed and sold on ebay. What do you?
I'm Dennis Hester and I'm a recent graduate of Sydney Johnston's Auction Genius Class #16.
I appreciate your passion for this cause,
Dennis

The major cause of death is hunger and the water born diseases, most of the victims are children under the age of 5 years. Of course charity seems to be a nice solution but it is not we have to raise the demand of the right to water and food as a fundamental right of the people and basic human right and to make people conscious of the fact that it is really a crime committed against the humanity that such horrible situation exists at present. The mind boggling advance in technology and science today are great achievement of the man today.
We have to raise the opinion against such unjust circumstances which could easily be done away with. We have to form discussion groups, forums, associations and network of friends to make people aware of it, and adopt an outlook of the one big famils of the human race, as today we are aware of the
fact that all of us have the same gene of the 4 million years old african mother.

I ran across this news article today (http://www.newsday.com/news/health/wire/sns-ap-malaria-research,0,3980893.story) about the Bill & Malinda Gates Foundation contributing 258.3 million in grants to speed the development of new drugs, vaccine, and mosquito control methods. "Malaria causes an estimated 500 million bouts of illness a year, kills an African child every 30 seconds and costs an estimated $12 billion a year in lost gross domestic product."
I commend this foundation for this generosity.
The reason that the poor of this world face such blight is laregly because they are poor: there is no profit motive for a company to be interested. That problem can be fixed with donations from rich people and governments. But it will only happen if ordinary people care.
