Can You Really Build Residual Income On The Internet?

I hear a lot of people say that they wish they could find a way to build a retirement income, or a residual income, from some type of internet marketing.  The problem with this is that most of the well known ways for making money on the web, whether it be from eBay, an online store, a membership website, information marketing, or any other type of web marketing vehicle you can think of is that the money eventually runs dry if you aren't there to keep pumping it out, so to speak.
